Descript is not mainly a text-to-video generator; it is an AI-assisted editing workspace for people who already have recordings. Its transcript-based editing is the main reason to use it. Podcasts, tutorials, screen recordings, webinars and talking-head videos can be cut down faster than in a traditional timeline editor. It is a strong repurposing tool, but users who want purely generated video from a prompt should start elsewhere.
